Blue Jellyfish finished

I just completed my blue jellyfish piece and am sewing on the sleeve and binding. My husband is making a frame for the original picture. Hopefully, I will send it off some place to be displayed. I always wish that I could send the photo and the fiber piece to a show, so viewers could see the inspiration behind the piece.

  1. Judy, this is lovely. What kind of fabric did you use for the blue jellyfish? It's perfect for making it seem wet and shiny.

  2. Thanks, Linda. The shiny fabric is from the "sheers," section at JoAnn Fabrics. If you look at the picture of the piece in progress, the one with my scissors in the picture, you can see that fabric.

  5. It would be wonderful if we could show our inspiration along with the finished piece. Why not suggest that on Quiltart and perhaps some of the shows will respond????

Love the jelly fish. It does look sparkly and jelly like.

  8. Wow, that is really good, it looks like it could swim on the quilt.

  9. Very, very well done! Having lived on the West Coast and seeing jellyfish often, you have captured this beautifully! I hope you will enter it somewhere!

  11. Your jellyfish are beautiful, and the quilting is fabulous. But...jellyfish scare the bejeebers outta me....Reason number 237 I don't live at the ocean.

  12. Beautiful work. You really captured the jellyfish. Thank you, too, for your comment on my "heart" piece on my blog.

  13. This is so realistic. You have captured the Man-o-War Jellyfish perfectly. This jelly's stings are really painful, but it is a beautiful creature. When they are in the ocean, the blue "balloon" floats on the surface. Great work!!
